MAKE-UP FAQ’s

  • Here is what my client’s said

“The best thing about working with Lauren is Lauren herself. She knew how to make me feel special on my wedding day. She listened to exactly what I wanted, and she even knew how to settle my nerves.” - Kate

“Lauren is brilliant. I was always worried about having over-the-top makeup, but I also wanted to look beautiful. She knew exactly how to strike the balance, and I have never felt as confident as I did wearing her makeup.” -Sarah

  • When applied correctly, your bridal makeup should last well throughout the day with only a few necessary touch-ups, such as reapplying lipstick after eating and drinking.

It is essential to choose the right products for your skin type and any existing concerns, such as foundation not staying put, creasing in specific areas, oiliness, or dryness.

For the best long-lasting results, it is recommended to address any skin concerns by establishing a great skincare routine leading up to the big day.

  • Absolutely not. This is going to be one of your most photographed days, so we want you to feel your best self in person as well as for the camera. Although a little more makeup than usual is beneficial for images, it is important for us to understand the needs and comfort zone of each individual client so we can tailor your look accordingly.

Many of my brides never wear makeup, so we emphasize their best features without adding unnecessary layers. On camera, everything looks flawless but not overly done. Your bridal look should feel like you, but better. The choice of correct products for such natural looks is crucial.

  • Individual or strip lash application is included in the price of the makeup service, and there is no reduction in price if declined.

  • Scheduling a trial after purchasing your dress can be a great way to ensure your overall look is cohesive and that your makeup complements your dress perfectly. We recommend planning the trial 1-3 months before the wedding date to give us plenty of time to perfect your look.

For the best results, we suggest scheduling your trial during daylight hours. Please keep in mind that we are often busy with weddings on weekends.

While we love having our clients bring friends and family to their trial, we recommend limiting the number of people you bring with you to avoid feeling overwhelmed. A best friend, bridesmaid, or your mother would be a great addition to your trial. When selecting who to bring, choose someone with positive vibes!

We kindly ask if you could come to your appointment without make up on. Removing previous make up and reapplying it can irritate your skin and eyes. However, we would be grateful if you could bring a picture of yourself and your make up bag so we can get an idea of how you usually present yourself and what make up you like to use.

In addition, we suggest wearing a white or light-coloured top (if that's the colour you plan on wearing) to help you get a better feel for the makeup look.

After your trial, we recommend wearing your makeup look for an hour or so to get used to it. Check it out in different mirrors around your home to ensure you love the final result.

  • We typically allow two hours to ensure that there is enough time to achieve the desired look and make any necessary adjustments. While it may not always take the entire two hours, we want to make sure that you do not feel rushed and that there is enough time to create a look that you are happy with.

  • We are not affiliated with any particular makeup brand, but we use high-quality brands, such as Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Laura Mercier, NARS and many more.

  • We can travel to any destination within or outside the UK. Please refer to our terms and conditions for information regarding the cost of travel.

  • No, you just pay for the trial and any travel charges incurred.

  • To ensure that we can keep your wedding date open, we kindly request a deposit in advance of your trial. This will help us to secure your special day and ensure that everything goes off without a hitch.

  • To simplify the process, all payments must come from the person confirming the booking. Typically, our brides collect payment from their wedding party before the final payment is due.

  • We have public liability insurance, and we would be happy to send over our certificate as proof if needed.

  • I am happy to offer makeup trials for anyone who wishes to have one. Many people are unsure if makeup is for them or feel uncomfortable having it done. Others may love makeup and are curious to see what my work feels like. Whatever the reason, I am happy to discuss it. Ideally, we can schedule the trial on the same day as the brides.

  • I pride myself on working to a high standard, and to ensure that I can offer the best service with a realistic starting and finishing time, I limit the number of people I can serve to the bride plus four. If the bridal party is larger than five people, I can arrange for an assistant to accompany me, but please note that this will incur an additional charge.

  • Rest assured, your bridesmaids will be well taken care of. Even though the bride is the star of the show, the maids and mothers are not forgotten. I make sure to consider everyone's comfort zones, whether they wear a lot of makeup or not. I create a look that is adaptable to each person's needs, using the same colours and tones to ensure that everyone looks polished and like part of the bridal "party". Because time constraints can be an issue, it may not always be possible to create a different look for each person. However, I make sure that everyone's needs are met and that everyone feels comfortable and confident with the final result.
