Nail FAQ’s

  • Please refer to our Design Guide to browse our nail art levels. If you cannot find the design you want, please email our studio with photos that inspire you, and we will advise you on which level to book.

  • Feel free to call or email us as soon as possible, and we'll see what we can do for you. We just wanted to let you know that we're usually fully booked, so it may be difficult for us to accommodate last-minute requests. However, if we have availability, we'll be more than happy to help you out.

  • If you come to your appointment with hard gel or acrylic from another salon, we cannot remove them. We will have to cancel your service and charge you the total amount. This is because we only have enough time to remove the type of gel we use. We're sorry for any problems this may cause.

  • To book an appointment, we require you to enter your card details. We do not take a deposit, but if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of 100% of the service cost to your card. Your card details are held by an external company called Fresha. We do not hold or have access to your card details.

  • Our studio uses The GelBottle Inc gel polish, a Brighton-based brand that produces vegan and cruelty-free products. Please note that we do not work with acrylic or hard gel. If you have either of these on your nails already, you will need to get them removed prior to your appointment.

For our manicures, we typically use The GelBottle Inc, Rubber Base, or Builder In A Bottle as our base coat.

  • Our salon is exclusively for gel treatments, which means that you must be at least 16 years old to book an appointment.

  • All our products are carefully selected to ensure we are using vegan and cruelty-free products.

  • If you fail to attend your appointment or cancel less than 24 hours beforehand, you will be charged 100% of the service fee. If you cannot make it, please get in touch with us directly by phone before your appointment. We do not accept cancellations via social media as we may miss them.

  • Please give the studio a quick call if you think you might be running late. We will do our best to accommodate you, but please keep in mind that if you're more than 10 minutes late, we may have to shorten your treatment. Additionally, if you're more than 10 minutes late and we are unable to provide your treatment, we will need to charge you a late cancellation fee.

  • Although we love your fluffy companions, we cannot accommodate pets at our studio.

  • We're so sorry, but we're not able to accommodate children in our salon. We've found that the adult environment isn't always the best for keeping children entertained, which can sometimes lead to them getting into mischief. Our main goal is for you to be able to fully relax while we focus solely on providing you with the best service possible.

  • We apologize, but we are currently located in the loft studio of a salon, which can only be accessed by climbing two small flights of stairs. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • Yes we do, based on the ground floor of the salon.

  • Pregnant women can safely get gel manicures in a well-ventilated salon with sterilized equipment. However, inhaling chemicals from nail polish and getting a nail infection from unsterilized equipment are risks to be aware of.

At Spotlight, we prioritize customer care with a well-ventilated salon that removes nail polish chemicals and sterilizes tools between clients. Our salon uses The GelBottle Inc gel polish, a vegan and cruelty-free product.

  • A service only for the brave, not fussed or just want to give nail art a go and have no idea! Complete creative control is given to the nail artist. This includes the colours and design. You will be asked a few questions at the start about what you really don't like and we will bare this in mind but if at any point you change the design the service will automatically be changed and fees will apply.
